Local grassroots leaders saw this procession from a distance in Khod Anuvratar (Kest) area.
Recently in Birbhum there has been one incident after another of Trinamool Congress and BJP leaving the Left camp. The district Trinamool camp is worried about the frequent defections in various villages ahead of the panchayat polls. And the district CPIM claims that in the future, a bigger breakdown awaits. Due to the rampant corruption of the Trinamool, the villagers are moving to the left camp. Villagers are choosing CPIM after comparing panchayat-based services during the two governments.
District Congress leaders took part in a Left rally in Bolpur town on Tuesday with slogans of communal harmony. The two parties claim that they will come down together against the Trinamool and the BJP in the panchayat polls.
This procession goes through different roads of Bolpur. Even Trinamool leaders stood on the streets and watched the procession. According to district Trinamool Congress sources, the main fight in Birbhum will be with the CPIM in the panchayat polls. BJP is not a factor.
