Train Derailed Howrah station
A major train accident was averted at Kolkata’s Howrah Railway Station today. In fact, a coach of EMU local train derailed on Sunday while entering the station. Subsequently, South Eastern Railway (SE) train services were partially affected at this busy station for some time in the morning. However, there has been no news of anyone being injured in the incident.
Panic spread among the passengers on the platform
The 38908 Amta-Howrah EMU local derailed at around 9.45 a.m. while entering platform number 19 of Howrah station’s new complex, Aditya Kumar Choudhary, chief public relations officer of South Central Railway, said. He told that no one was injured in the incident. Due to the slow speed of the train, a major accident was averted. However, due to this incident, there was panic among the passengers.

According to the official, a relief vehicle was immediately dispatched to bring the derailed coach back on track and restore normal services. Due to this accident at Howrah station, SER has decided to terminate three express trains- 18044 Bhadrak-Howrah Baghajatin Express, 12814 Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Express and 18004 Adra-Howrah Shiromoni Express at Santragachi station. He informed that some local trains of South Eastern Railway were delayed due to the incident.
