Preparations for the Women’s Premier League starting from March 4 are in full swing. All the teams have announced the name of their team captain. Mumbai Indians announced their captain today. Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been given the command of Mumbai Indians. The team has to play its first match against Gujarat Giants on 4 March. This match will be played from 7.30 pm Indian time. Before the tournament, BCCI has also released the anthem song for this season on the lines of IPL.
5 teams are participating in the first edition of the Women’s Premier League. Apart from Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians, the teams of Royal Challengers Bangalore, UP Warriors and Delhi Capitals are included. All five teams will compete with each other 2-2 times and the top three teams will make it to the playoffs. The eliminator match will be played on March 24 in which the second and third placed teams will be face to face. The first-placed team will get a direct ticket to the final and will fight for the title with the team that wins the Eliminator.
Women will have free entry
In an attempt to make this edition a super hit, the BCCI has given a lot of discount in tickets apart from the theme anthem. Let us tell you that women fans of all the matches of the Women’s Premier League can watch for free. Apart from this, a lot of discount has also been given in normal tickets. The price of normal tickets has been kept between Rs 100 to Rs 400. All the matches of the Women’s Premier League will be played in Mumbai. DY Patil and Brabourne Stadium will host all the matches.
