People are looking upset because of this sudden increase. India At present, the price of petrol and diesel in India is running at Rs 100 per liter while in Pakistan it has gone up to Rs 250 per litre. On the other hand, if both countries are compared, the price of petrol and diesel in Pakistan is two and a half times more than in India.
Minister Dar said that the Pakistani rupee devalued last week and now we are seeing an increase of 11 percent in the prices of petroleum products in the international market. The minister said that our government has not increased the prices of petrol in the last four months. On the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif following the devaluation of international prices and rupee, we have decided to increase the minimum price of four products.
He said that we have decided to increase the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 35 per litre. The price of kerosene oil and light diesel has been increased by Rs 18 each. The minister further expressed hope that the announcement of the new prices would dispel rumors of stoppage of petrol supplies.
